1. на всех парах идти, мчаться и т.п. (of a train, ship etc) (to go, race) at full capacity:

- under a full head of steam;

- at full steam (throttle);

- full steam (speed) ahead;

- [of a ship or boat] under full sail.

2. на всех парах лететь, мчаться, нестись и т.п. (куда) coll. Also: НА ВСЕХ ПАРУСАХ (to race, run toward some place or, when used figuratively, advance toward some goal) with great speed, with the utmost effort:

- under full sail;

- at full (top) speed;

- at full throttle;

- full speed ahead.

     ♦ Главное то, что у меня объявился свой капитал, а потому и пустился я жить в своё удовольствие, со всем юным стремлением, без удержу, поплыл на всех парусах (Достоевский 1).
